Beware of Cervical Cancer Dangers
I know that I’ve written about cervical cancer in the past, but there are misunderstandings I think need to be clarified. One source of confusion that I encounter often involves when and why Pap smears are performed. Many times I’ve asked a patient the date of her last Pap smear and have been told “They did one in the emergency room,” or “My other doctor did one and told me I needed an antibiotic.”

FDA Approves Medication To Grow Eyelashes
The first FDA approved medication to grow eyelashes is about to hit the market. Ladies are lining up for this one - it's expected to be as popular as Botox, reports CBS station KYW-TV. The glaucoma medicine, Lumigan, is being renamed and repackaged as Latisse, to specifically grow eyelashes.

Glaucoma Awareness Not Just for Humans
In recognition of National Glaucoma Month,
Florida Veterinary Specialists (FVS) are spreading the word and increasing awareness of animal glaucoma because pets are as susceptible as humans. "When eyes go bad, they often do so quickly," said Dr. Noelle McNabb, DVM, Diplomate AVCO, a board certified specialist with FVS. "Pets with glaucoma are one of the most common emergencies that we see here in ophthalmology.
